Synopsis
Inside the investigation of a cross-state robbery ring that pulled off one of the largest cash hauls in Brazilian history, told from both sides of the line.
3 Tonelada$ reconstructs a case that shook Brazilian law enforcement: the theft of roughly three tonnes of cash, and the multi-year pursuit that followed. The series weaves first-person testimony from the crew with access to the federal investigators who hunted them, stitched together by cinematic reenactments shot in Fortaleza and São Paulo.
I directed the reenactment unit, working alongside documentary directors Daniel Billio and Rodrigo Astiz, and produced by Mixer Films for Netflix.
